On 12.06.2019 participants of BONEBANK met for a Joint Project Meeting at the IHK Schleswig. Managing Director Christina Bober presented goals and project progress of the BONEBANK Data Center to be implemented by soventec for the project phase 2.0.

The basic idea of BONEBANK is to prepare bone marrow and bone fragments, which contain valuable stem cells and have so far been discarded as waste during routine operations, for further use. The potential of these stem cells lies primarily in their use for regenerative therapies such as the treatment of bone fractures.

The soventec BONEBANK Data Center represents an IT platform that makes samples traceable and traceable across clinical borders. Cross-border legal conditions, the will of patients and their consent as well as data protection (GDPR) are major challenges in addition to technical implementation.

Christina Bober emphasized: "The administration of valuable sample data in the soventec BONEBANK Data Center is a great responsibility. As a company certified for medical products, we are very aware of the processes and framework conditions. We will find a good solution!
